the third baby quilt has been finished for awhile. but was just waiting to be photographed. i really like the fabrics i chose. and the colours. and i like that the blocks all lines up nicely. but i am not too happy with the quilting part. some of those lines are not so curvy. or are a little wonky. but i had to let it go. otherwise i would be unpicking stitches forever. oh, well. next time i will try to figure something else out.
i like the back of the quilt. mostly that pink fabric with little cars all over it. and i love the binding. i just used up the leftover fabric from the front. and i love the white linen and cotton blend. it was perfect for this project.
this was the second quilt that i didn't hand sew the binding on. and it turned out okay. my first attempt at it was much better. it definitely takes a bit of practice to get it perfect.
leslie (not me). the gal who helped me out with encouraging me to use the machine to bind the quilt. wrote a bit about using a machine to sew on the binding. check it out here.

I am very close to starting Enzo's quilt. As soon as your last package arrives I might start cutting the fabric. I just need to finalize the pattern for it. Thank you for info on binding. I always machine sew it on. Faster and easier.
I did find a great tutorial on making a quilt. If you are interested http://www.ohfransson.com/oh_fransson/quiltalong.html

I've only just caught up on your exciting news! Congratulations on the new job but such a shame about your shop! Well, from my point of view, anyway. We're moving house too. Not countries, just houses. It's exciting. I hope you enjoy your last few weeks living in Japan. You have definitely made me want to visit. Best wishes!

I think it all looks magnificant. The quilting is beaufitul! I really love your quilts. They are so different from what is out there. Every time I look at them I think how soft they appear, perfect for babies. I have some linen blend and lighter weight linens to make a quilt with. You are definatly my inspiration on that! Will you talk a little more about the fabrics your using?
