i can't believe i wasn't in japan this year. to experience the ume and sakura blossoms. after five years there they almost started to feel normal. almost. but not quite. the plan is to head back there next year in prime blooming season. for a nice long visit.
these photos were from a festival that we went to in april. a couple of years ago. and i just found this unpublished post. and what a nice surprise that was.
oh, japan, i miss you.

Amazing pics!

Hello Leslie! My husband and I went to the San Francisco 'sakura festival' this April. I'm sure it can not compare to Japan, but Japan town was lovely and the festival was so enjoyable! They had a grand parade that was 2 hours long and so full of high energy.

Hello Ms Leslie, I have to agree with you "I miss Japan too!" I was stationed there 7 years. My husband 10 years. We loved it. This summer our son and his wife will be stationed there for another 4 years. We can't wait to visit!

Lovely photos. I think that there is something special about the cherry blossom and can't understand why we don't celebrate it here - I was out taking photos around my city last weekend of the blossom here - spectacular - but not as spectacular as Japan last year!
