good-ness

just some things i need to finish this summer. 

 

a quilt for my niece's b-day. almost two months overdue. luckily she is only one and hopefully won't remember how late her gift was. shoot.

a mini quilt for a friend. for a change pad for her little one on the way. just the binding needs to be hand sewn. and it's been that way for a few months. dang it.

 

a new project started. a mini quilt for the wall. one i designed. and is challenging my creative skills.

 

and fabrics chosen. for a quilt for our bed. because that is on my list of things to do before the big three four in september.

and i wonder why i don't finish a project before starting the next. seriously. and you should see my list of things i want to start this year. and hopefully finish before the end of it. i wonder what's on your list.

this is our back yard. well, it would be if our backyard extended for an hour or so. the kananaskis is a huge area near banff. full of so many wonderful things. the mountains. the lakes. the trees. and the wild things. like elk. and mountain goats. and active folks.

we did our first hike of the season last weekend. to rawson lake. and will return in a couple of months. once the snow is all gone. the lovely thing about this hike is that you get your bang for your buck. do people still say that? it's not super long or strenuous. and the visual reward at the top is wonderful.

 

here we are back at the bottom. i am so happy for h-kun to experience his first full spring and summer in canada. living here. and not just visiting. he really helps me to see this place through a new set of eyes. and appreciate the things about this place that seem so normal. the things that i take for granted. like those freakin' huge mountains.

i'm jumping back in. slowly. no mascara. dirty hair. and all.
