weekend goodness 86.

 

we love walking. we do. we try to take a few together during the week. and usually we get out for a long exploratory walk each weekend. where we head off in a new direction. and just walk. and walk. then when we are tired we look for a cafe. and a bus or subway to get us home. this weekend we got out for two of these walks. saturday. and sunday. it snowed for part of our walk on saturday. and i was giddy. snow is a very rare thing where we live in japan. and i miss it. strange. i know. 

 

i only brought the camera on sunday. it's amazing how much you can discover in a couple of hours of walking. our favorite find was a huge pond in our neighbourhood forest. that we never knew existed. we also found some bright colours. signs. not-so-perfect roses. a latte for h-kun. and a cookie for us to share.

I'm glad you got a bit of snow this weekend! I'd be happy to send you some of the wintry mix we're supposed to get here in New York tomorrow ;)

I cannot recommend highly enough taking your camera with you everywhere! I have a little Sony Cybershot that I keep in my handbag every day. It may not be the best camera out there, but it is small and takes decent photos. You never know when you're going to see something that would make a beautiful photo or even just something you'd like to document, sort of a photographic sketch for your reference. This is how I've found many of the things I've blogged about.

walking is great. one of my favourite things. but i haven't been doing that much of it lately, due to the heat (and other excuses). so i'm going to try and do more this Feb. and take photos too!
