life has been super busy lately. but i have found some snippets of time last week. here and there. to sew a little quilt.
one of my best friends had a baby girl a few weeks ago. and i am hoping her little one and my *soon to be here* little one will be BFF too. i thought i would try to help out their friendship by making them matching quilts. or similar quilts.
i cut squares and triangles for my baby's quilt. and wanted something with the same fabrics for my friend's litle one. i started out with a very vague idea. and then the design unfolded while sewing. just like so many of my quilts. and i am super happy with how it turned out. and so was my friend. (hello marci!)
i used some of my most favorite favorite favorite fabrics. that liberty fabric from japan. with the little acorns and leaves. the little grey and black flowers. frome one of my favorite places in japan. nara. and then those grey stripes.
oh my. this is so awesome. love the colours. and pink bit on the binding!

This is so stunning!
I am new to patchwork and quilting and I find your quilts so inspiring. I love your use of solids, subtle colours, stripes, and placement of your patchwork. It is so simple and sophisticated.
Thanks for sharing congratulations again on your soon to be here little one.
